Beef Tataki is simple and can be made in advance, finished with the sauce. It’s packed full of muscle building protein and is ideal for a busy lifestyle, as it can be cooked in no time at all.


 


Main Ingredients:


200g of Wagyu beef fillet


2Tbsp spring onions, finely sliced


2 Cloves of garlic, finely sliced (Not diced)


Sauce Ingredients:


5Tbsp soy sauce


8 Tbsp rice vinegar


4g dried bonito flakes


 


Method:


1.       Mix dried bonito flakes, soy sauce and vinegar together, put in the fridge and allow to infuse overnight. Poor through a fine strainer before serving.


2.       Heat about 2cm of oil in a saucepan and slowly deep-fry the garlic slices. When they turn light, golden brown remove and blot with kitchen role.


3.       Season the meat with the black pepper. Heat a non-stick frying pan until it starts to smoke then sear each side of the beef for 5 seconds. There should be no red meat visible. Plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process and pat dry with kitchen role.


4.       Cut the beef into thin, 3mm slices, top each with spring onion slices of fried garlic, then spoon sauce around the edges. Serve at room temperature.
