Body for life suggests eating six meals a day, each of which includes a portion of lean protein rich food, and a portion of an unrefined carbohydrate rich food.
There is a list of approved foods which include:
·         Approved: Protein rich foods: Skinless chicken or turkey breast, fish, egg whites, low fat cottage cheese, whey protein shake, very lean ham or beef etc.
·         Approved: carbohydrate rich foods: Brown rice, whole grain bread, pasta, pasta, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, etc.
·         Approved: vegetables: Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, etc.
 
There is also an intense exercise program Body For Life which involves weight training for 3 days/week and aerobic exercise for 3 days/week.
