Sometimes you need to lose some weight quickly, get in shape and look better for an event you have ahead. It could be a wedding or whatever. It is possible to shed some fat within a few days. The following are some dos and dont's for quick weight loss.

First, do not take up any fad diet or pills for quick weight loss. You could end up hurting your body. Weight loss requires a plan that includes dieting and exercise. You need proper nutrition to avoid feelings of faintness and other health consequences. Whether you like it or not, successful weight loss will demand that you make some changes in your lifestyle.

Reduce the use of fats and oils in your food as much as you can. That means you have to stay away from fast foods like fries, pizzas etc. Chocolates are definitely a no go area. Avoid red meat (beef, pork etc) and go for white meat (fish) and diary food instead. Stay off fried foods and eat boiled or baked foods.

Do the following before meals. Drink water before every meal. It is key to body metabolism. Eat a serving of fresh salad also before meals. This will help you to eat smaller portions. Let the salad be made of fresh vegetables without spices, salad cream or mayonnaise. Eat more foods that are high in fiber. The easiest ones to get are cereals. Fruits are a good way to enjoy eating without putting on weight. However stay away from nuts. They contain a lot of oil. Also no soft drinks, sugary food or alcohol.

Start a routine of daily exercise. Walk, swim, rope skip for 30 minutes to an hour a day. It doesn't have to be at a stretch. You can have 2 to 3 exercise sessions in a day. Don't sit idle for too long. Keep physically active as much as possible.
